Stress out, reality in factual inspirations and emotions, the deepening of emotions, feeling lost in pain and darkness. Who knows what goes on in my mind, who knows who I am, what I feel? The teacher droned on in the background. I sat, scribbling in my notebook. All eyes were turned downwards towards their maths exercise books, as each pupil frantically rushed through the questions, trying to keep up with the fast-moving teacher. He did not notice that a window in my corner of the maths room was open. A chilling February wind blew through it, but at least I could escape. The window was only open a short way, but it was my only chance. Maths was supposed to be really fundamentally important because you had to "have a GCSE in it for virtually every career". Oh, you're perfectly entitled to that opinion, don't get me wrong.

It's just that I detest the way maths is always used as a measuring stick to determine someone's intelligence or general ability to do anything. I know I was always looked down upon for my poor maths ability, and I could never comprehend how people described it as beautiful and exciting and whatever because I never saw it us anything other than rigid, lifeless nonsense. I know it's not nonsense, but to me it's rigid and dull nonetheless. I always found beauty in other things and could never comprehend why others couldn't see it.
Anyway, this is a reply to something you wrote two years ago, so...

It makes no sense when I try to do it so it's painful and I'm only in elementary algebra!
